Astor College offers friendly and affordable accommodation in an ideal location in Central London. Just a few minutes walk from Oxford Street and the West End, Astor College is a great base from which to explore London.

The majority of the bedrooms are singles but we also have one twin room and one studio flat available. All rooms are carpeted and equipped with a washbasin and a refrigerator.

Astor College accommodates undergraduates and graduate students during term time. The rooms are therefore not equipped to hotel standard but they are clean, comfortable and ideally situated.

Please note that during summer 2010, Astor College will undertake necessary refurbishments on two of its floors. We will do our best to alleviate noise but there may be times when this is not possible.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate guests under the age of 18.

Dining and drinking

We offer accommodation on a room only basis, with each guest having access to a kitchen shared between other guests. Each kitchen is equipped with basic essentials for the guests' use. There are shopping facilities close to the residence if guests wish to use the communal kitchens to cook their own meals. We ask guests to do their own tidying and washing up after their meals.

The studio flat is equipped with a kitchenette for guests' use.

Sainsbury's, Marks & Spencer and Tesco supermarkets are within a 10 minute walk of the residence. Coffee and sandwich outlets Starbuck's, Pret a Manger and Eat are within a 5 minute walk of the residence. There are also numerous pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants nearby to suit all tastes and budgets.

Guests can purchase a voucher for breakfast (and dinner when available) at the Ramsay Hall reception where meals are taken. Ramsay Hall is located just around the corner from Astor College.

Other facilities

Internet: Every room has a broadband internet access point, requiring an ethernet cable. Vouchers are available at the reception, they are valid for a minimum of one week and need to be paid for online (2009 rates: £8 for 1 week, £12 for 2 weeks, £22 for 4 weeks, £27 for 12 weeks). We do not offer WiFi access.

A coin operated launderette is available on site.

There is a lift access to all floors

There is a vending machine providing snacks and drinks on site.

Each bedroom is equipped with a small fridge and there is a TV lounge and music room with a piano available on site.

The reception office is open daily between 8.00am to 11.00pm. Guests arriving after 11pm are required to go to nearby Ramsay Hall to collect their keys. Please let us know upon booking if you are arriving late. We apologise but we have neither parking nor luggage storage facilities available on site.

The easiest way to find us is by public transport. If taking the underground, exit at Goodge Street. Upon exiting the station turn left on Tottenham Court Road and left again on Tottenham Street. Turn right on Charlotte Street. The residence will be on your left.

Although Goodge Street is the closest station, Warren Street and Tottenham Court Road are only a few minutes walk away.

From London's airports, we recommend taking the main transport route into London and taking the underground train to Goodge Street station.
