Customer feedback
We guarantee that all our feedback is genuine and can only be submitted by people who have booked through our websites.
Mrs Gonzalez Clara, August 2011: I'd like to thank the management for their efforts towards promoting in guests a respectful behaviour, by reminding them that smoking was not allowed, or by encouraging them to use the kitchen responsibly by keeping kitchenware and facilities clean and ready for other costumers to use.
Mr Austin Cooper, July 2011: Great value, great staff. Would certainly stay again if circumstances were to require it.
Richelle Munkhoff, September 2010: The only complaint I have is not something you can do much about, which is that the James Lighthill House is in a very noisy location. Overall, the staff is excellent, more than helpful. And as always, a great value for the money.
Maria Correas, September 2010: This room offered good value for money for London standards. It was literally ten minute walk or even less from Kings' Cross station and was very quiet at night, even being a weekend. The room has just everything you would need for a short stay. My only criticism was that I had difficulties finding where my room was the first day but it was the porter's first day! However a resident kindly helped me. Overall a very good experience although wifi would be a definite bonus.
Antonio Martín del Puerto, August 2010: It was clean and tidy. The room was comfortable and quiet. Reception very useful and helpful when dealing with my enquiries.
Risa Kojima, August 2010: The room I was given firstly was very dirty with a bag full of rubbish, dirty dishes & messy bed - so it was more than obvious that the room had not been clearned after the last guest. I reported about this to the security officer (as I checked in late evening), then he immediately checked the room, gave me another room and promised to report this to the manager. He was very efficient and his apology for the mess was very sincere. A duty officer at the reception also made a very sincere apology for what had ppened to me when I checked out next morning and promised things like this will never happen. So despite the initial confusion, my stay at James Lighthill House was rather pleasant one. It was definitely far better experience than my stay at Thistle Euston where I had to pay far more for a room with broken shower but the hotel employees kept on making silly excuses.
Priscilla RUFFE, August 2010: I enjoyed in this student house and I am sure I will come back there.
Corey Kirkham, August 2010: Very convenient and good price!
Jean REVEZ, August 2010: The pros: Very well-kept residence with a nice and clean room and ensuite bathroom. The personnel is friendly. Located near the St-Pancras International and King Cross train stations.
The cons: A bit far from the city center. Location near a noisy street with automobile traffic.
Palmer Swift, Jill, August 2010: Very pleased! I found this an excellent location and so handy for Kings Cross and St Pancras stations, It is ideal if making an early start e,g, for Eurostar of Scotland by train.
Jaime Goodrich, August 2010: The room was an excellent value for the size and en suite facilities. I also appreciated the free in-room internet access and the use of the kitchen. All in all, a good experience.
Mrs I A Chilton, August 2010: Exactly as expected - basic facility, relatively clean room and en suite, window opened well to allow fresh air and view onto rooftop, bed quite OK. Just what was needed for overnight stay. Access to kitchen also.
Robin Whitfield, July 2010: Room a bit dated but assured that a refurb was in progress. Noise facing entrance at night can be troublesome for those that want a full nights kip but overall value for money. Staff helpful and accommodating.
Sandra Fairley, July 2010: Feedback from the 4 Ukrainian doctors who stayed at James Lighthill House was very good .
Staff on arrival were all very helpful and friendly.
Hope to use your facilities again next year.
Sara Lockett, July 2010: Ideal fo my purpose attending training, would recommend it to others.
Dorothy Cantrell, July 2010: Great location. I'll be back.
Alice Crosta, July 2010: I chose JLH because its rooms are furnished with bathroom. I had a fine staying; if I have to come again to London, I will probably look for lodging in the same residence.
Tongtip Poonlarp, July 2010: The room is good value for money. It has a perfect location -- a few steps from Tesco and bars, and a short walk to King's Cross. Plus, there is Bus no. 73 running every few minutes to UCL and Oxford Street, which is ideal for shopping. The staff are also kind and helpful.
Kate Haldane, June 2010: Would definitely book again, perfect for what I need. Thank you!
